Hired as a consultant to spearhead a breath-analysis system for rapid, accurate disease detection — a working prototype hit 91% accuracy identifying COVID from a breath sample within three months. Promoted to CIO & EVP, leading Chemistry, Clinical, and IT and all operations bar legal. Managed 20+, defined core algorithms and frameworks, and owned hiring, budget, and strategy alongside the CEO.

Founder. As CTO, software architect, and project lead, oversaw 100+ projects with a remote, open-source-minded team of 15–40. A Big Data and data-analytics company building both standard and novel AI — backprop & spiking neural nets, self-organizing maps, Bayesian networks, Markov chains, RDF, MapReduce — on Java/J2EE, Hibernate, MongoDB, TinkerPop, Hadoop, and Apache Jena, with heavy use of graph theory, linear algebra, and statistics.

Consultant and team lead on Java J2EE, Hibernate JPA, and CXF. Also a Big Data consultant who authored several novel graphical-model algorithms, working heavily with Elasticsearch and Spring on the back end.

Lead programmer on Comcast's TV/movie metadata back-end, with Big Data analysis throughout. Migrated persistence from Hibernate JPA to MongoDB, building on Elasticsearch, RESTful services, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.

Managed a team of 14 building Contract Manager — a contract authoring, repository, and negotiation suite — on Java J2EE. Owned the full lifecycle and all interviews, ran the SVN→GIT migration, integrated the Activiti workflow engine, and introduced Apache Jena semantic metadata on Oracle 10g. Hosted weekly classes on Java concurrency, graph theory, and complexity.

Built Linux package management capable of installing, updating, and configuring packages once installed — in Java and Scala, with Dropwizard REST communication and Hibernate JPA across a Spring stack.

Designed and built ADD (Automated Deployment Database), FEMA's mission-critical post-Katrina decision engine for the logistical deployment of emergency workers. Senior developer over a team of 5; owned all PL/SQL on Oracle 9.2g with the iBATIS framework and a Spring MVC front end.

Designed regression and statistical-analysis software. Led usage analytics that processed 4M+ records per hour in real time, using machine-learning algorithms to surface insights and traffic suggestions on PostgreSQL (later Oracle) with a J2EE front end — plus a relevance-driven survey-generation system.

A two-year, full-lifecycle build of a distributed client-server network (Java, MySQL, SOAP) for efficiently exchanging genetic-algorithm data. The standout result: a novel ANN + genetic-algorithm lossy image-compression algorithm that outperformed JPEG. Lead programmer over a team of 5.

Engineered the CS-3001 Microwave Pulse Analyzer: signal-source triangulation, intelligent-data detection, and finding hidden signals in the noise floor. Built the Java Swing applet UI and controlled the hardware registers, implemented FPGA logic in VHDL, contributed to analog and antenna design, and applied Cooley–Tukey FFTs and machine learning.

Lead programmer on Programming.com's encrypted Java client-server on Oracle, with a friendly AWT GUI and a critical-error notification system that would phone and email a network of contacts on a crash. Also built the J2EE HTML front end, including newsletter and auto-approval submission tooling.
